Can anyone recommend any high level theory and/or technician type books? I'm not talking a pilot guide, but enough depth and understanding that one could recreate instruments if they otherwise had the skill. Not ending with gray code stuff, but starting with it. For example, details of raw output or IO as well as internal functioning/theory of systems. Most interested in older stuff like VOR, CDI's, DME's, ADF's and older autopilots. An old out of print book might even be preferred (assuming I can find it on the used market).

Thanks!
