The above link was recorded by my friend 2 weeks ago. The airport is KHPN Westchester County in White Plains, NY. As you can see in the video, ATC issue instructions to land on runway 29 and traffic was a bit busy. When I'm on short final I spotted another plane landing on runway 34 and immediately I initiated my go around. ATC realized their mistake and told me to go around after I started the procedure. You can see the other aircraft rolling under my right wing. Then ATC switched runways and told me to land on 34. This was VFR and makes me wonder what would happen if IFR conditions were present. ATC never came back on the radio or admitted a mistake. I guess if I am the one landing on the path of someone else I probably have to give tower a call. What you guys think?
