I thought this was pretty cool: Divers discover Nazi WW2 enigma machine in Baltic Sea
If you ever get the chance National Cryptologic Museum - Wikipedia is a great place, open to the public, where you can see a working example of an enigma machine as well as some other cool stuff. Its a small museum but worth the stop if you are in the area. KFME is about a mile down the road.
Fun fact: over a decade ago that building in the photo on wikipedia is where I was sworn in as a civil servant. My very first day was a snow storm and I didnt get paid because we all had to go home and didnt get sworn in.
