This has been a long cold winter here in N. Michigan & im tired of shoveling out the hangar, pre-heating the plane & freezing my -ss off doing all that. So, I’m thinking about not flying in the winter months anymore, & letting the plane sit for three or four months. If I decide to do that next year, I’d like to make sure it’s stored properly. Several things I’ve thought of are, battery minder, change oil & filter before storing. What about the fuel tanks? Top off, drain, or leave as is? Should I look into jacking the plane off the ground to avoid flat spots on the tires? Would it be okay to cover it with my outdoor plane cover for that long?
Who knows, next winter might be tropical but if not, I’m not doing this again.
