My last two attempts at winter flying over the past week failed: at the first one, I was too tired after clearing all the snow and ice to fly safely; at the second, I was still OK after 45 minutes clearing the new snow and ice, but the low ceilings and icy wet snow came in earlier than forecast, just as I finished.

Today I was determined to fly if I could do so safely. In the end, I managed one hour of flying out of four my car was parked at the airport (half an hour of that was a rest between clearing and flying). But still, I put 1.1 in my logbook, while all the boats at the adjacent marina are out of the water and covered up until spring.
