I have searched long and hard for pictures that demonstrate how and where the window beading should be installed in my 68 PA-28 180D. I ordered the beading from PlanePlastics and on their web site full of images it says how much beading a particular piece of plastic requires (if you were ordering a replacement plastic trim piece).
I know some windows have plastic trim 360 degrees around a window and that would be easy... window beading 360 degrees. My 180 D on all the side windows has plastic for the vertical trim and small aluminum trim on the horizontal (top and bottom) portions. I am trying to figure out if I only apply the beading to the plastic portions or do I also apply it to the aluminum edges??? I have looked at as many planes as I can on controller and trade a plane and it appears that all of these 40+ year old planes have lost their beading over time and it doesn't get replaced.
If anyone out there has experience with the etiquette for this beading installation I'd appreciate any advice you could give. A picture or two would be awesome. I'm sure I could guess and do it however I wanted but I'd just rather know I was doing it correctly from the beginning.
Thanks.
