I have been shopping for a Cherokee 140. In many of the adds it says major overhaul xxx hours ago. Then they say xxx hours since top overhaul after the major was done. Why don't the top ends hold up after a major overhaul. Did they consider the top end was OK when they did the major? (these are Lycoming engines)

What sites have the best selections. I have been looking at controller , barnstormers , and trade a plane. Also being on the east coast I usually don't consider something west of the Mississippi. I would like to get a plane first and take lessons in my own plane. But then I'm left with the problem of how to get the plane my home airport. :?: :?:
