84 Archer, just got the hardware for mounting main wheel fairing (see below). These are supposed to attach from main gear axle to wheel fairing. Plane is currently in the paint shop so I can't look at the axles, however, I did quite a bit of work on the plane beforehand and I don't remember the inside of the axle being threaded to accept these (I may be wrong-wouldn't be the first time). Is there some kind of female union that attaches the male threads on the outside of the axle to the male threads on these fairing support tubes?
