USA Today has launched an investigative crusade against GA manufacturers as "bad guys" and a root cause (they imply) of (most) aviation accidents. I feel that some of the material is true, however the sensationalistic and portraits of persons who have died/suffered injury as a result of aviation accidents makes me feel the purpose of USA Today's report(s) as not really news - and is more slanted to get a reaction from folks who are not pilots or aircraft owners - and to increase its readership.
The report cites 45,000 GA fatalities during the last 50-years. After reading the report, one draws a conclusion that each of these accidents was caused by mechanical and design problems. Thoughts?
