Tire blown 3 in two years 250 hours

This is the third time we lost a tire blown on takeoff or landing in two years and 250 hours flying. We have been keeping the mains at 38 psi per handbook. Machanic suggested we up the tire pressure to 55 psi for the 8-ply rated tires. Any suggestions?
