My Stratux that I built has been going strong for quite some time. As of late, my GPS signal to my iPad occasionally disappears, then comes back after a minute or two. It seems to be happening more frequently as time passes.
The stratux.me website seems to be down. I have been able to find other info online, but that seemed to be the most comprehensive source of information for the unit online when I built it. Below are some ideas I have that could fix the problem. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might fix the issue, or other suggestions?

1. When I built my Stratux the software version was 1.4. I read online that re-flashing the SD card often fixed issues. I ca purchase a pre-loaded SD card running version 1.6b. I think this is a better option than re-flashing my card because I can easily switch back to the old software version if I have a problem with the newer version.

2. I can replace the GPS chip in the Stratux unit for $17. This could certainly be the cause of the problem.

3. I can install the external GPS antenna for $11. This is supposed to help with reception, but I am hoping to avoid an extra antenna because this unit is already a little bit clunky. It would take longer to set up and take down which I do often as I do not fly the same airplane all of the time.

Any advice is appreciated.
