I know the topic of patches on the control surfaces has been discussed before on here, but Im looking for some input. I have about 7 or 8 patches across my stab. In going through the log books, they were placed from 1969 to 1971. One was replaced in 91, but obviously, they have been signed off on annual every year since. This is my first annual, and the shop is not wanting to sign off as airworthy without an FAA field approval on the repairs... What would be the best way to get this done? Is it possible to get those repairs approved, or am I looking at re skinning the stab? Thanks for your help!
