When I bought the plane about 7 years ago it had an Apollo LORAN installed and switches that appeared to couple the autopilot to either the VOR's or the LORAN.

I never used the LORAN and recently replaced it with a GX-55 GPS which should be a plug in replacement. What do I need to do to make sure the autopilot responds to the GPS? Does the autopilot have to be in heading hold on mode?
