The 1998 POH instructs me to hold the brakes until full power is achieved. This is both the normal and short-field procedure. The turbo requires a minimum 5-second throttle aoplication, so i’m sitting there on the runway…

This procedure puts unnecessary load on the brakes. And increases risk of FOD to prop. So why is this suggested. Does anyone do this?

Thanks.
