What's the typical cruise speed (KTAS) for a 1980's non-turbo Saratoga (three-bladed prop)?

I'm thinking about upgrading to a cherokee six or a saratoga (or a lance). My wife says she wants something 1984 or newer otherwise I'd be looking at a Lance (better useful load than a Saratoga from what I understand).

The reason I want to upgrade is for the space and speed. I have two kids, two medium sized dogs and my wife and I. So when we fly in my Cherokee 235 we have to leave the dogs behind. Even then it's pretty cramped for long flights. Also we are planning to do a lot of long trips and the extra speed would be great to shrink the distances.

So my thinking has been that I would prefer a Saratoga to a Cherokee Six because of the extra 10 or 15 knots of cruise speed. However, I am just got off the phone with a guy selling a Saratoga and he claims that he cruises at 150 knots. Last week I was flying in a cherokee six and we were going that fast at 70% power. So I'm confused. Maybe the seller is confusing indicated and true?

This site claims 158 KTAS. So the tapered wing and retractable landing gear only buy you 7 knots? That's nuts.
