I am a new pilot with only about 100 hours so far. I have been reading here and on other forums the debate about leaning to ROP or LOP. I have a JPI 700 installed and I lean to 100 ROP as I have read that 50 ROP is a very bad region to be in. The JPI manual says not to lean to LOP unless GAMI injectors are installed. I have a 73 Challenger with an O360 so I do not fall into this area.

I read the POH and it says to lean until engine roughness and then richen until the engine smoothes back out. Isn't that LOP?

Is it safe to run my engine LOP with the JPI installed?
What advantages are there to running LOP?
What is the best range to run LOP? 25/50/100
