In the practice area just west of Ottawa, we had a midair collision on Sunday, and and a forced landing into treetops today.

Everyone survived without major injury from all three planes, including the 70-year-old pilot who managed to keep his damaged plane under some kind of control until it hit the water in the Ottawa River. But it's not a great start for general aviation as Ottawa gradually reopens after a couple of months shut down. (*)

(* G.A. was never banned, but there was very little activity at local airports from mid March to the end of May, so I think most pilots voluntarily stayed home.)
