If she is serious, she needs to consult one of the FAA "fixers" to get a Special Issuance, and then she can fly on BasicMed with approval of her personal physician. Pilots such as I have gone thru the process...in my case after getting a quad bypass. It does take some time to get the SI approved, but once that is done BasicMed is routine and strictly between the individual and their personal physician..

The "fixers" are usually retirees from Oak City who can make sure your application doesn't just sit in someone's inbasket...for a fee.
