I just bought the standard system which contains 4 cylinder bands and one oil sump pad. The install diagram on the intructions shows the power plug mounted in the front of the engine instead of near the oil dipstick door. http://www.reiffpreheat.com/Instructions-HotBand.pdf

The kit is designed for only making a small 3/8 inch hole through the engine air baffle to get to the lower oil sump heater. If I want to route the power plug to the dipstick area, then a much larger hole will be needed to fit the power plug through the engine air baffle.

I am thinking of installing the heater as shown in the diagram with the power plug in the front. How did you install your Reiff system? I know that the oil door is a better place so you can see it when in the airplane, but I am sure I will not miss disconnecting when pulling from the hangar.
