Guys, so I am going to meet with my avionics guy in a couple weeks regarding a GTX345 install. I am already in the 8K range...I know...buy a plane that already has a nice panel rather than blowing your money with upgrades.... :)

I'm wondering if since he is installing the transponder, should I ask him to do anything else that isn't going to break the bank. My 2 issues right now are:

-My AI is very loud and could give out at any time. I'm not IFR..yet, but I don't know if it is worth replacing right now.

-My radios have seen better days. I don't trust my COMM/NAV 1, they have given me issues in the past, my KX170 is bulletproof, but ancient.

Eventually I want to add an engine monitor, a gps down the line, then way down the line, an autopilot. Plan on keeping the plane and plan on being IFR equipped later on.
