Know there is a lot of material and debate out there (reading is endless) on the different upgrade options, comparisons, and benefit/trade-offs of upgrades, but would like opinions and testaments to help figure out my path.

Bought a 77 Archer II this Summer and immediately upgraded to an IFD540, remote AXP322, and a CDI to mate to the IFD. Left existing #2 radio in the stack which is an older Terra unit mated to a #2 digital CDI. After flying a bit, experiencing intermittent AI issues, and working the OEM AP that is only hooked up to the DG heading bug, I am hungry to upgrade to digital AI/DG and a digital 2-axis AP.

Path 1 - Aspen E5 + TruTrak
Path 2 - Dual G5s + GFC500

Would like thoughts, feedback, experiences, etc. as well as guidance on adding a backup AI vs. keeping existing, path to pulling the vacuum system out (especially with just the Aspen), and any experience on most capability when paired with the IFD. Including panel pic for any input on what would move where based on experience.

Many thanks!
