I am a Canadian with a US and Canadian PPL living in Canada. Has anyone got any experience using a US trust such as http://www.faaregistrations.com/ to register an N registered aircraft owned by a non US citizen / resident?

My local Canadian FBO will do a US annual for me (does a Canadian annual and then charges me 200 bucks for a US AME to sign off), and Transport Canada confirmed it is OK to keep an N registered single engine piston aircraft indefinitely in Canada for PERSONAL use.

Meanwhile, the US market is much bigger and 20 - 30 percent cheaper! I will try and import the aircraft into Canada (and re-register), but keeping it N registered in the short - medium term is very convenient!
