What's the general consensus on this forum on best practice for oil changes...
1. change oil after a flight or ground run-up when engine is hot and all oil is splashed around the engine and galleries and stirred up?
2. let plane sit for a few days after a good flight and allow all oil to drip down into pan, and then plug in engine heater and warm up oil so it flows a bit quicker prior to draining?
3. forget the plug-in/warm up and just pull the drain plug and let it drip for as long as it takes?
I've always gone flying and done the job 'hot', and i burn my knuckles off every time when reaching through the headers to get my hand to the quick release drain.
