I have just purchased a 1974 Piper Warrior 151hp.

When I switch off the Master switch I hear the noise of the gyros spooling down through the overhead speaker. When I turn the overhead light to bright or dim the gyro noise through the speaker increases or decreases.

Any ideas why this might be?
