I am having an issue in my 1999 saratoga ii tc likely with my altitude encoder but was wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this.

Transponder displays "---" for altitude (as seen in picture) and obviously this is a mode c failure (ATC is the first one that pointed it out to me), and the error comes up on both my 430s as well.

Shop ran a bench test on the encoder and it passed, but the problem is intermittent and usually only lasts 3-5 mins but I fly a lot in class c and b airspace.
