I got a quote to paint my Pa28 -151 today. It seemed to be inline with what I was told it would take to strip and paint($11,500.oo). I am looking for the collective wisdom of the group to lead me in the best conclusion. Here we Go...

My plane is a 74 Warrior that has two coats of paint on it with the top failing and the bottom cote starting to flake off in areas. I have started to get some localized areas of corrosion and want it protected, as it has to sit outside in the weather of central Florida. I am considering just painting the entire plane white and saving about $ 1500 dollars and having some vinyl numbers and strips added. Worth the savings??? How will the vinyl last in the Florida sun. If I do get the strips painted is there any colors I should not use due to fading and weathering? I want to do this correct the first time. any other wisdom on stuff I should do prior to paint ( already doing wing spar inspection and replacing fuel lines.
