I am purchasing a 1973 Cherokee Challenger 180 that has two ancient Narco comm radios, no nav, this is a very basic VFR aircraft. The transponder is a old Narco AT50, a Garmin 296 gps is clamped to the yoke.

I want to redo the whole avionics stack when I get the plane home, and have been tossing ideas around as to what would be the best way to go. I don't fly IFR, but I may decide to get that rating, not sure. I want to install a PS8000BT audio panel, beyond that, I have considered a Garmin GTN 650 with a Garmin CDI/ILS indicator, and replacing the ancient Narco transponder with a King KT76A.

I am just not sure of the right way to proceed. I do know I want to do it right once, not keep piecemealing equipment into it. Any good advice here is welcomed!
