I received word today that Mountain Pilot passed away on June 8th of this year.
When I first joined the forum Mountain Pilot was a regular contributor. It became apparent to me very quickly that he was someone that knew what he was talking about. Although we never met I feel we became friends through e-mails and phone calls. Since both of us started flying over 50 years ago, we had a lot in common, flying, antique cars, and Corvairs
Mountain Pilot came from a family with a tradition of flying: his father was a pilot and his son is also a pilot who is carrying on the tradition of grass roots flying with tail draggers.
So it is with a very heavy heart I wish you Godspeed Richard on your last solo flight and may you rest in peace.
