I am not in the market for a plane but often look at listings to get an idea what planes are going for so that when the day comes for me to sell, hopefully not for a number of years, I have some idea.

Lately I have seen a number of postings that in the listing say “modern center stack”. When I look, I see that the most up to date thing in the center stack is a Garmin 430 a few times a 530.

Now I have a Garmin GTN650, a new PS PMA450 audio panel in my center stack. But because I have a Bendix/King 97A 2nd comm and a Garmin GTX 327 transponder, I would not call my center stack modern. Picture of center stack attached. So what does everyone think a modern center stack means. Nothing against Garmin, but how long do we think a Garmin 430 or 530 can be considered modern.
