I have a friend that I was supposed to pickup at MEM at 2ish today but he is delayed and has to take a later flight that will arrive at about 10pm. He's flying in commercial (AA).
It's about a 1.5 hour drive for me to pick him up or a 30 minute flight in the Saratoga. I have a couple questions for those familiar with MEM.
What is the generally the current traffic load in/out of MEM at around the 10 pm mark on a sat night?
Also, how would it work to pick someone up coming in commercial with me being GA? I've dropped a friend off at Wilson FBO before. If I tell approach I'm picking up someone coming off an AA flight is there a particular protocol or do I go to say wilson and he has to navigate his way there with his baggage? If so, how hard is it to get from AA terminals to Wilson air center? On a map it looks like a major trip.
I may scrap the idea of flying over there if it's a real pain in the rear. Also never flown into a Bravo at night but considering it will be under ATC guidance I can't see how it would be any different.
Paging GM?
