LOP AND ROP, are there times some of you use one over the other?

Just started flying LOP and it is very east to do (with a fuel injected engine and JPI 830). I don't know why I was so afraid of blowing up my engine. I've seen so many posts here and elsewhere about the merits of LOP but I wonder if some of you guys (and gals) fly ROP sometimes and LOP at others? Had a family trip and as usual on long x-ctry flights, had a head wind on both ways. I loose about 10-15 knots flying LOP and especially with the family and a head wind, wanted to switch over to ROP but kept her LOP and added about 20 mins to the flight. I don't really care about saving $40 bucks on fuel. If I wanted to save money, I could by 1st class tickets for everyone and have someone else fly us. Owning and operating these things are not cheap but it is sure more fun when it's you behind the yoke.

Anyone out there fly both ROP and LOP at times?
