Earlier this year I purchased a ramp project 1968 PA28-140 that hasn't moved under its own power since we came to the airport in 2003 - last annual was May 2001. 2018 when we had an airshow it was towed to the other side of the field with little traffic and some kind soul(s) robber the prop, spinner, main gear torque links & a fuel cap. One of the crappy city tie down cables failed during Ida and it was partially spun into the grass with the main gear facing odd directions (on account of the missing torque links). My 1st thought was to remove the engine, convert it to a -D3G to use as a spare for our Warriors and scrap the rest, but then at closer examination it didn't look too terribly bad and I've decided to resurect it.
Anyway, all the exterior plastic fairings are shot & so I'll be buying new wingtips and came across these from K2U, anyone installed a set yet? Do they make a worthwhile difference? Would you do it again?
