Throughout my experiences of flying a Cherokee...I have developed a "nag" for the "Hershey bar wing" as it is easier to land...especially on shorter strips and fields. However, the "Tapered wing" in which I fly on occasion in my archer, has a better glide ratio and is much more "touchy" in ground effect. I will typically trim down prior to my landings, therefore I'm not tempted to float out of ground effect. This technique has proved success and I have used it for many years assuring smooth landings, however I'm willing to try different methods...any suggestions?
