Hoping the collective aviation minds and experience can help me out before I succumb to the dreaded avionics shop. I have a PA28 with two King KX155 radios and a King KMA 24 audio panel and PS Engineering PM 3000 intercom. I have had both radios bench tested and they come back ok. I am having static on transmission from both radios. I have switched radio positions with no change. changed headset I recently noted that the static improved with altitude changes talking on same frequency. There is no one altitude I have noted it repeated this behavior. I have a new antenna on the belly of the plane with no change (accidentally broke it washing the plane). I have been told by ATC, when this occurs, It can be hard to hear me. any ideas, i really don't have the extra $$$ to have avionics shop charge me $100 bucks plus an hour. Thanks in advance for your insight.
