A few weeks ago, I got a red "AltInOp" light, along with 01 on the digital load meter. (98 Archer III) Flew it for about 30 mins to landing, losing avionics power just before landing. (Already posted about this.) After returning with fresh battery I ferried it 30 mins home where a new alternator was installed.

6 flight hours later, at 12,500 ft on the way back from San Diego, it happened again, only this time there was no AltInOp light, just 01 on the digital load meter, followed by loss of all avionics power a few minutes later. Flew it 40 minutes and landed in Bakersfield.

The shop in Bakersfield cannot find anything wrong with the plane. They tested everything, including firing it up. (Alternator was putting out power and load meter was reading normally.) They even said the battery was nearly fully charged. I'm driving (3 hrs) to pick it up tomorrow to bring home to continue trouble shooting the problem. (Needless to say, I'm not flying it cross-country until this is resolved.)

Any ideas on what the problem might be, or how to trouble shoot the problem would be greatly appreciated.
