I am finally redoing my checklist to add the "transponder to ALT mode" before taxiing. I know Standby mode lets it warm up, and it won't report altitude at either rate until it is warmed up, but is there any harm in going straight from off to altitude (or "on" for that matter)? (I'll probably add 'switch to standby' after start and add another 'switch to altitude' right before taxi anyway, so I guess it's more of a curiosity question)
