Hypothetically speaking, if a someone had the means and equipment to make high quality aircraft parts and wanted to make some mods to a certified plane, wouldn't it be easier to get a new experimental airworthiness certificate?
I pan on installing my own speed mods then have my AI look it over and file the 337's, but if I had to pay a weeks labor to have it all done, it wouldn't even be close to worth doing. I figure if the plane were experimental and I got the itch to say.....hang a PT6A turbo prop out front, there would be no one standing in my way holding a rule book.
How have you all done your STC'd mods? You guys that are A&P/AI's don't count.
