Question to all that had a GI 275 installed as AI and getting the needle set for level flight. I had mine installed and the avionics shop set it up for level flight with the plane leveled in the shop. Makes sense but when I went for my BFR and doing a bunch of different attituded under the hood such as slow flight, obviously the AI was way off. In cruise it also seems off. Is this the standard way to set up the instrument for level flight? Also, I had 2-GI 275's installed for AI and DG along with GNX375 coupled to Autocontrol lllb, a PSE PAR200b audio panel/com installed and my Aera 660 moved to the right side of panel. I had them install a heading/GPS switch so I would not have to function that on the GI 275 if I needed a quick switch to fly a heading. The shop never wired my Aera to the GNX 375 (I had the proper cable) and stated that it couldn't be done until I called them out on it and then they apologized. The autopilot does not fly a GPS heading but rather banks hard right and while override clutches if I don't disengage it. It does fly a heading and will fly wings level with heading/gps switch off. The shop said they will get this addressed but that means another 2 hr flight one way and car rentals to get this fixed. Anybody run across this? Incorrect pinning for GPS to autopilot? Is there a way to adjust the AI needle, if for example, you are flying slow flight and want to adjust the horizon? I'm thinking not but appreciate any input!
