Question for the group: has anyone had issues when trying to raise the gear after the plane has sat for 1 week or greater? I’m in a 1976 Lance with the auto extension system in override, so airspeed shouldn’t be a factor. Also, I’m usually retracting gear at about 100 mph anyway, which should be fast enough in either case.
When I initially move the gear lever to the up position I’ll get the gear unsafe light and the intermittent warning horn. The three green lights go out, but nothin else changes. I then cycle the handle down, and the system shows normal, horn stops. When I try to raise the gear again, it comes up just fine. Works great the rest of the flight through multiple gear cycles.
I did have new landing gear hardware (nuts and bolts) and an overhauled hydraulic pump installed in May 2023 when the old pump died.
I’m wondering if this is normal at all (I hope not) or if there’s something else at which I should be looking.
