Garmin gma 340 photocell dimming

So i did a night flight after installing the 340 and noticed the backlight of the keys controlled by the photocell in the middle is none and the names of the keys are hard to read in the dark.

Tried putting my finger n top and nothing happened. Tried the same with no lights in the cockpit and same result.

Is this as bad or is the photocell broken??

The backlight in the 530 is also very bad but it can be fixed by entering config menu
