Looking at a VFR PA-28-160 Cherokee with a Garmin 396 panel dock GPS installed. I know it is pretty old, but hopefully will do the job for a VFR training/short (<300 miles) jaunt aircraft.

Questions I have are :

1. Can this unit can be ADS-B compliant (I believe only ADS-B in correct?)
2. Is it still getting updates and can be used as part of an IFR ready system?
3. Anyone use it with XM Weather and does this require a different antenna?

Comments? Experience?
