Anyone have a G5 or G3X Touch, a GFC 500 and an Avidyne IFD 5x0/440? If so, does the GFC 500 VNAV mode work correctly with this setup? I can’t get any answers out of Avidyne so I’m going empirical. I’ve seen a few posts out there about the IFD VNAV setting set to ENABLE LABELS but nothing definitive on the GFC 500 VNAV working like it does when connected to a GTN. The GFC 500 definitely states that VNAV is only functional with GTN units and since IFDs look like GNS units hence the question.
Anyone out there with this combination that can confirm GFC 500 VNAV with an IFD? I don’t want to swap out my GNS units for IFDs if I’m not going to have full functionality
