These FAA accident reports can have a few errors, but this is a good one. An FAA employee would have written this, so we would presume that person would know the basics about aircraft construction. Technically even the nose gear is not mounted to the fuselage, it's mounted to the engine mount, or airframe, but I'll give them one error.
But this one apparently does not know where the landing gear is mounted on a Piper PA32:
AIRCRAFT ON LANDING, VEERED OFF RUNWAY AND THE NOSE AND RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR SEPARATED FROM THE FUSELAGE, CHEMEHUEVI VALLEY, CA.

Please, all you PA32 owners, double check your main gear mounting bolts to ensure the gear stays attached to the fuselage!
