I have flown into Ryan field several times when going out to visit my in-laws... Great GA airport, have had no issues at all... also helps to be a Class D airspace place and only GA aircraft. The problem is no rental cars, airport car, or easy ground transport.
The rental car companies that I have talked with will not drop off there, or even pick us up... One member here did offer to let us use his car, which was a great help, but I do not want to over extend that offer.
So, having not flown into a Class C airport yet.... ya, 200+ hours and stayed out of that airspace, I find that biting the bullet and using Tucson may be the best option to get a rental car from. so who has flown out of there, and can provide some help as to where to go, what FBO to work with, what to expect flying in and dealing with " big airplanes"....
So starting 10 miles out to coming in from the Gila Bend, what would be a normal approach, and landing pattern to be expected in a normal late morning time??.. which runway is used most, and where is parking, at what cost... Thanks,....
