I found a relatively cheap KLN-90B GPS pulled from an operative aircraft for an upgrade. The person selling says the unit functions fine but didn't bother getting the form 8130 or yellow tag paperwork done on it. Fair statement. Not sure I 100% trust the unit without it.

I've inquired to several avionic shops locally to me to see about sending them the unit for confirmation and issuance of the form and nobody seems interested in doing that. Is that something they don't do anymore? I say not interested because they take all the info from me and then I never hear back. Even re-inquiring I have to start over like I've never talked with them before and they simply dropped my info in the File 13.

It can't be that difficult, can it?
