Well, at least maybe real soon.
Sure, several certified options for electronic mags now for most planes, with the standard two mags, us D3000 single base "dual" mags were left out of the fun.
Enter ElectroAir's RC4000 hybrid Mag project. They are putting it together to allow for replacing both mags in a standard two mag aircraft. The second one has both an electronic and conventional mag, so you will get ignition even with no ship's power. Of course that is exactly what you need for a D3000 setup.
Using the single hybrid Mag, on the single base of the D3000, they expect to have a certified solution for Dakotas, Cardinals and others by late this year, with shipping early next year.
