Looking at putting an EI UBG-16 in my warrior. I have one that was purchased for a Cessna 150 but never installed, and was going to use it on my PA-28-151. Couple questions for those with experience...
1) The CHT probes are the style where its a washer that goes between the cylinder and sparkplug. Are these accurate?
2) The EI is a few years old but has NEVER been installed. Does it still have any warranty?
3) Should I bother with EGT probes (as I already have one on the aircraft) and do EGT probes matter if you know CHT?
4) I was thinking about mounting on co-pilot side (due to space reasons) can it be read from the side?
5) Strongly considering a carb temp probe as well, would this require heavy modification to the carb?
6) I already have a digital tach, OAT, and single (factory) egt. What else would you recommend for probes and why?
7) Im hoping to keep the install (talking labour only) under $1000. Do-able?
