Just thinking about the idea of another attitude gyro. I came upon the thought of putting a Dynon D6 EFIS into a spare 3 1/8" hole. It's a little cheaper than the electric gyro options. Is this somewhat legal, for a certified plane? If I look hard enough I see mixed reviews with the RC Allen gyros & slightly better with Castleberry. My vacuum is O.K. but I want a secondary more than I want to just overhaul/replace my current vacuum indicator. Maybe these EFIS indicators don't indicate as precisely as a battery one would, their info seems to be 'gps derived'.

An indicator for 'VFR only' wouldn't bother me, but I don't want to hamper myself to get the plane IFR legal.
