dual master solenoids ?

Has anyone seen dual master solenoids on their Cherokee. We have a PA-28-180B and discovered two master solenoids, it doesn't jive with the Piper schematic for this plane. Not sure if we should leave it as is or remove the extra solenoid. The only drawback I can see is additional weight and amp load on master switch.
