Do You Need a Wet Compass?

If you've replaced you steam gauges with dual G5s, an Aspen E5, G3x, Skyview or some other EFIS that uses a magnetometer, can you remove the whiskey compass from your airplane?
Below is the reg and it references needed equipment as a "magnetic direction indicator".
